The current restaurant Les Ombres is located on the roof of the Quai Branly museum and offers a breathtaking view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. This restaurant signed by the architect Jean Nouvel has a strong identity expressed around the concept of shadows. This concept is declined in projections generated by the glass roof and the wooden cubes on the floor, as a wink to the museum’s façade. Inspired by the architectural concept, we wanted to enrich and reveal its shadows; to bring them to life to create a transition between a restoration space and an event space. It seemed obvious to us to start the project by respecting Jean Nouvel’s writing and it is in the spirit of continuity that our interior concept is forged around a graphic unit taking up the shadows while embellishing them with flaws and luminous facets.
At the level of the outside space we will create a hanging garden linked to the desert theme. The interior design project as well as the landscaping project are based on the proposal to make this establishment a signal space, a space where it is necessary to be.
