The architecture and urban planning agency Bechu & Associés, architect of the original building, worked on its extension and restructuring through an "architectural breathing" approach. Indeed, originally closed on itself in a still highly industrialized ZAC context, the building has been completely redesigned to open on the city.
Thus, beyond a work of transparencies done on the facades, the installation of an interior street and businesses allows the development of a new offer of services and uses necessary for the quality of life. the efficiency of its future user (s), for a living space that will also allow building to evolve and vibrate with the city.
Nature is also associated with the building to make a real system built. If its facades are endowed with greenhouses to ensure a visual rhythm and play with the levels, SWAYS indeed claims the development of a resolutely biophile universe within it. The three key elements for generating a biophilic mood are:
• the plant motif: We use it by playing on the scales, by using its colors, or by taking some of its properties (reflections, absorption, organization, ...)
• Transparencies: Glass is one of the project's favorite materials. Among other treatments, a delicate game of reflective screen-printed glass will be implemented to create a volumetry or a decoration, generate a signage, illuminate differently, while bringing a unit to the place.
• The light: Our drawing is also guided by the light. It is projected in an indirect way, creating here and there shadows, to bring other movements and materials, and to confer a beautiful harmony to the different spaces.
SWAYS is the promise of a new generation of offices: a state-of-the-art place for innovation in uses, environmental performance, technologies to support them, and in which nature will resume its primary function of promote physical and psychological well-being..
